The Digital Scholarship Laboratory is a facility within the library that allows researchers to access, integrate, and share current and future research across all disciplines using digital tools and resources such as Data Curation, Digitization, Spatial Analysis and Visualization, among others. It seeks to assume the role of springboard to innovation for the Florida Tech community and it aims to:
- Support research, teaching, and learning in all Florida Tech disciplines
- Provide professional expertise in research and technology
- Allow equal access for all students and researchers
- Offer new infrastructure and services to faculty and students
- Offer broadly applicable technologies
- Offer a variety of seating and collaborative work spaces
- Support collaborations of cross-institutional projects
- Function with flexibility to enable reconfigurations as needed
The DSL offers:
- Graphics intensive applications
- Rendering & visualization
- Video display wall
- Interactive computing
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Large-scale multi-touch displays
- Virtual Reality
- Prototyping and creation (3D printing, scanning, etc.)
- Textual analysis
- Data management
